I was born in Slovakia in 1979. Since I was little, my mother used to say to me “Tomas, you’re going to be a doctor.” Although I didn’t become a medical doctor, I did become a doctor of law. In addition, I also studied international business, because I didn’t know which direction I wanted to take. I started a demanding job and life on the treadmill began. At work I did what someone else told me to do, at home I did what my wife told me to do, and the rest of my time I devoted to my child. I didn’t pay much attention to food, I mostly just ate what was at hand. Then, everything collapsed like a house of cards, mainly due to health problems. But, every ending is the start of something new. My mother still says that to me, as did my school, my boss and finally, my wife. So I started to look for things which would really give me enjoyment. I looked for a way of finding balance in my life. I became interested in the endocannabinoid system and it made me excited about the therapeutic potential of cannabis.
